Giving Back and Supporting

Alpha Sigma Alpha is very big and goes all out when it comes to doing events for our philanthropies and giving back to the community whenever we can! Some of the philanthropies and events include:

Girls On The Run where we help out with girls from the ages of 3rd to 8th grade and help build teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. All the sisters go out at the end of the day and cheer the girls on as they finish the 5K!

Making a Splash was an event we did to raise money all day for the Special Olympics. We had a dunk tank and lots of people came to participate and dunk sisters!

Greeks Give Back after the year of the shocking flood in Bloomsburg in September 2011. Alpha Sigma Alpha along with Kappa Sigma went around to many homes to help people clean up after the disaster.

Relay For Life is one of the favorites for us to participate in! The event is held in the Rec Center on campus where we walk all night to raise money for Cancer. We love this event because it’s a great cause and we get to do it will all our other Greek Life Organizations.

We are always looking to give back and help out in any way possible!

Welcome New Babies

The time has finally arrived when our new girls get in! Alpha Sigma Alpha welcome seven beautiful ladies into the 71st pearl class last week. Each girl bringing a unique wonderful personality making ASA a sorority at the total of 53 sisters.

With the excitement of finally being able to call them our sisters we welcomed them with open arms and a pair of their very own letters. It was great to see the smile on their faces when they were saying the “The Creed” with us. At the end of it all the new girls get in the center and we sing our song "We Belong" and it is great to see them so happy. Since I have been in ASA I have seen three different pearl classes go through this and the feeling and sight on their faces when they get their letters never gets old. It’s the best feeling to see girls get in, its one of my favorite parts of every semester! CONGRATS 71ST!!

An ASA Homecoming Done Right

It's that time of year again! Homecoming of 2014 was upon us last weekend and ASA was full of familiar faces from recent years and from the past. All the Alumnae come back to reminisce in the days that they all shared in ASA years back.

We started off the morning with a Bagel Breakfast hosted by Stephanie Randazo. We all got to meet older sisters that came back to visit and meet all the girls in ASA now. The stories they could tell about there college experiences were just great to sit and listen to. As you looked around the room and saw sisters family lines were huge with all their additions lining up to get that great family photo that they will cherish forever. It wasn't just having your family lines come back together, but also the reunion with your pearl classes with people that have graduated. The 66th pearl class had all their pledge sisters come back and reconnect with ones that have left. Later one that day everyone went off and did their own things and met up with other sororities and fraternities.

It was a great day at the Alpha Sigma Alpha House. Were hoping to continue events like this and have our alumni come back and visit all the time! It was full of laughs and great memories. It's times like these that I love being in such a great sorority and happy to think that one day I'll be able to come back and share my stories with the new sisters.
